Home Automation is a central system that can control and create communication between nearly all aspects of your house. This Includes:

  • Lighting
  • Heating and Air Conditioning
  • Music
  • Television
  • Security System
  • Gas & Electric Fireplaces
  • Watering Systems
  • Irrigation Systems
  • Internet
  • Doors
  • Window Blinds
  • Appliances
  • Plumbing
  • And more coming all of the time

What Can Home Automation Do?

A Home Automation system will allow you to automate things you want done on a regular basis or have an action occur when a particular event takes place.

For example perhaps you want your lawn watered once a week, you can have your irrigation system programmed to come on touch screen being pressedat 10:00 in the morning once a week, but only if the moisture sensor says the lawn is dry enough. What about local watering bans? You could also have the option of entering on a touch screen panel watering ban "on" which would override the whole system until you pressed watering ban "off".

In this example the Home Automation system is tying together your touch panel, your watering system and moisture sensors that are in your lawn. The system then allows for feedback from the moisture sensor, and the ban on/off button on the touch panel, before telling the watering system to go ahead and water. It will then start this scenario again next week. Unless it did not water the lawn then it will check tomorrow to see what the sensors and the ban on/off say.

Can you see the added benefits your home automation system is providing you.

  1. One, it's very easy to use, you don't have to think about watering the lawn at all, and if there is a ban you only need to touch one button.
  2. It is saving you the cost of watering when you don't really need to.
  3. It is saving water, a natural resource.
  4. It is allowing you to come home to a beautiful green lawn.

One of the beautiful things about Home Automation is it can be tailored to your lifestyle. Perhaps in your city during a ban they allow watering only on even or odd days or at night or only on the 5th Sunday after leap day :) This can all be programmed into the system.
